When beekeepers see goldenrod, we know summer is ending and Fall has officially begun. Some accept that with more grace than yours truely. Not that I am rolling on the ground crying “Woe is me!!!” but I do get a bit nostalgic for the summer days that always seem to fly by too quickly!
Now that school is back in session, we return to our routines and prepare for colder weather and all that it entails: changing leaves, the upcoming holiday season and for Jonny Bee Goods, the end of another great Farmer’s Market season!
That being said, lots of people will be stocking up on larger containers of honey in order to get them through to next Spring. While we gladly help fill their needs, we happily remind them that our honey – both Wildflower and Orange Blossom – are available YEAR ROUND, and all in your favorite sizes.
And for those of you who like to stock up anyway – I offer this tidbit: Store your honey in the FREEZER. It sounds crazy, but extreme cold storage slows the crystalization process to a virtual stop. The best part? It stays LIQUID!
